Imagine This!

Once again, we present a comic ripped from the headlines. I’m not sure why they thought this would be a good idea. Maybe, it’s because they stopped showing Science-Fiction a long time ago.

But, if that’s the case, why don’t you call yourself the “Not-Sci-Fi Network”. Don’t invent some corporate bullshit word, to try and convince us that you’re not pandering to geeks. For heaven’s sake, you already alienated a good portion of your audience when you stopped showing awesome Sci-Fi shows and started showing crappy, terrible horror movies. And professional wrestling.

I don’t think your fancy new name is going to attract the type of audience you want. And I’m reasonably sure its going to turn off any Sci-Fi that might have stuck around after Battlestar ended.

And screw you for canceling Stargate: Atlantis. That show is awesome.

I wouldn’t say that they stopped showing awesome Scf-Fi shows, just that they ALMOST stopped. Occasionally one still slips in there. At least Eureka’s not bad (can’t think of anything else left in their lineup – they’re going to run Primeval, but who hasn’t downloaded that or seen it on BBC America already). I can even see mixing in some of the horror stuff, it appeals to the scifi mindset (keep in mind, scifi is a broader category than science fiction, and many scifi classics, even Star Wars aren’t stricltly science fiction), but that kind of stuff should be just a sideline. Wrestling shouldn’t even remotely be there, unless done Celebrity Deathmatch style, in space, etc (hell, wrestling in the vacuum of open space wouldn’t be any less believable than what they do now).

But I can’t say I care enough about what’s left of the network to really care if they change the name and logo.

The problem is trying to keep track of the few good shows among all the chaff – especially with constant schedule shuffles, split seasons and hiatuses.

    Bryan,

Horror, when done well, I don’t have a problem with. I like a lot of horror flicks. But, pick some good horror. I’m a fan of crappy movies, and even I don’t want to watch “Mosquito”.

How about some horror, with a sci-fi twist, like Aliens or Predator. Or even go slasher horror and show Nightmare on Elm Street or Halloween. Show some freaking awesome horror stuff.

And agreed on Wrestling. Although I enjoy it, I don’t think it belongs on Sci-Fi. Unless they wrestle in Space. That would be awesome.

Okay Barry, Chris. Sunday has been a very boring day here at work, and I will admit Ive had time to read all 117 strips. My mind has been all over these last 4 hours. Like I said Ive had a lot of time to read. My conclusion is you guys are funny, completely off track to any sort of subject. I am dissapointed with your views on Keanu, obviously you havent seen Point Break… Okay the recent Keanu, or since then hasnt been that great. OK and as for this I agree with Nightmare on Elm Street. I will try to keep up now so I wont have to go back through and read 117 at once. Great job guys…Yes Barry that includes you :P

    Jaclyn,

Don’t encourage Barry. He’s a bitch. In fact, I would recommend you wait 117 strips to read it again, because his art is so hit and miss, you really need to take it all in, so the misses don’t turn you off of the comic.
