Great Scott!

Bartholomew and I are divided on Mega Man 9. For me, the game takes me back to my youth, sitting on the floor, staring up at the TV, as Dr. Wily tried to take over the world for the third or fourth time.

It reminds me of a much happier time, in my life. Which isn’t to say that I’m not happy right now. I was just a lot happier as a kid. Less worrying about work, money and time. Mega Man 9 takes me back to that era of my life.

Barry has a hard time with it, because he sees it as a step backwards in a video game series that hasn’t really taken a lot of steps forward. In fact, when I told him I wanted to do a Mega Man 9 comic, his idea was to cut-and-paste the same picture of the Blue Bomber 9 times, labeling them Mega Man 1-9.

Needless to say, the guy in the comic is totally me. I totally have rad, fingerless gloves. Barry… he’s a heathen, who will rot in hell with the ball-throwing elephants.

On the game itself, I would like to commend Capcom on the terrific look, feel and sound of the game. I’d especially like to point out the music. Every note is just heavenly.

I just think EA secretly owns the MM franchise. That or they think MegaMan sounds enough like Madden…(current year withstanding)
